The Vocational Pathways team at Spotswood College pride itself on being a vibrant, flexible and forward focussed department that is dedicated to assisting our akonga to reach their potential through individualised programs.

The friendly, experienced staff will assist you to plan and navigate your ideal future pathway through a variety of community connected,  authentic, and engaging learning and development opportunities.

GATEWAY

GATEWAY

Gateway opens a new pathway to the world of work through work experience placements.  Students are allowed the opportunity to blend school study with meaningful workplace learning and experience. 

 

You will have the opportunity to build links with Industry Training Organisations, modern apprenticeships and workplaces.

STAR

These courses are taster style classes that help students to explore career and pathway options. They assist students in making informed decisions about future subjects, study and employment goals.

 

These courses are funded and available to senior students.

3 + 2 WITT

Students on these courses will study at school 3 days per week and WITT two days. They will often complete a National Certificate within their chosen field of study.

 

In Term 4 you will return to school to concentrate on external exams and further career development. These courses are funded.

TRADES ACADEMY

TRADES ACADEMY

Trades Academy is a partnership between Taranaki secondary schools, WITT and various industry partners. 

Trades Academy offers a practical and hands on adult learning environment using industry standard equipment and technology.

Students study 1 day a week at WITT.
