As you are aware Spotswood College has been conducting student individual Development Plan interviews (IDP’s) for several years now and they are proving to be very effective in giving our students purpose and direction for their future learning goals and pathways. In these personalised meetings we will discuss your child’s individual learning needs, revise and set personal goals in the context of their future education and career aspirations.
The Individual Development Plan (IDP) interview days are Thursday 15th June from 2.15pm and Friday 16th June 2017.
Although there are no classes on Thursday period 5 and all day Friday, we are expecting 100% of students (mufti) to attend school for their important interview accompanied by a member of their Whanau/Family. Your child’s IDP interview is the perfect opportunity for us to meet/catch up with you whilst you are supporting your child and together further build the home/student/teacher partnership essential for student achievement and success.
These IDP interviews are approximately 20 minutes long and generally take place with your child’s Whanau teacher in their Whanau classroom, at a negotiated time.
During your child’s IDP interview questions may arise regarding specific subjects and/or teachers so you will have an opportunity to book an evening meeting with a subject teacher by making an appointment at the desk in the main reception office after your child’s IDP interview.
